The screening of Sonita, a documentary about an 18-year-old undocumented Afghan illegal immigrant living in the suburbs of Tehran, forms part of International Women’s Day.

The film screening is organised by the University of Luxembourg together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Luxembourg and the Zonta Club Luxembourg. It will be held in the presence of Ambassador Peter W. Kok, Mrs. Florence Fischer-Herber, former District 27 Governor of Zonta International, Prof. Dr. Tonie van Dam, Gender Delegate and Vice-President for Doctoral Education and Training, International Relations and Gender and Prof. Dr. Christel Baltes-Löhr, Gender Expert at the University of Luxembourg. A welcome speech will be held by University President Prof. Dr. Rainer Klump.

The film screening will be followed by a public discussion and a reception.
